Abbie Chatfield’s ‘song’ becomes unlikely Hottest 100 contender

Abbie Chatfield’s viral Covid-19 vaccination rant has been morphed into a song that is rocketing into contention for this year’s Triple J Hottest 100.

The reality star turned Instagram sensation, 26, launched a sensational rant at anti-vaxxers on her It’s A Lot podcast last year, saying: “You need to stop telling people you don’t want the vaccine because actually, who the f**k are you to say, ‘I don’t trust it’? I know you do Ketamine!”

It’s since been composed into a dance bop by Melbourne DJ Candy Moore – also known as Calum Newton – with the title I Know You Do Ketamine.

Both Chatfield and Moore have encouraged their fans to vote for the song in this year’s countdown, which will be unveiled on January 22, as countless people have taken to social media declaring they’ve voted for the tune.

Chatfield was a staunch pro-vaccination voice throughout 2021, despite suffering intense trolling for her advocacy.

In another episode of her popular podcast in September, she launched another viral rant, questioning: “If the goal was to kill us all off, would they not just say, ‘Oh sorry guys we couldn’t get a vaccine’. They’d let us [die].”

The former Bachelor star also uploaded a series of videos interviewing medical experts as she declared she’d be deleting any anti-vax comments.

“Any outright anti-vax comments will be deleted on these videos. This is not going to be a place for conspiracy theorists to harbour their discussion,” she wrote.

Chatfield’s career has gone from strength to strength since starring on the Channel 10 dating show two years ago, having recently been given her own radio show on Hit Network, Hot Nights With Abbie Chatfield, which will air nationally on weeknights, 7-9pm.

Let’s see if she can add Hottest 100 candidate to her list.
