Word has it there’s a fifth Indiana Jones movie in the works
HOLLYWOOD is abuzz with word that a new Indiana Jones movie is in the works, and Harrison Ford may reprise the role. Seriously.
A SINGLE line in Hollywood’s industry bible has sparked excitement that a new Indiana Jones movie is in the works — and Harrison Ford wants in.
Respected publication Variety published an article about director Janusz Kaminski and his advanced filmmaking course, which included a startling revelation.
The story makes reference to Kaminski’s next project being “the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie”.
It comes after months of speculation that a new instalment in the popular film franchise was inevitable.
Disney acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones story at the same time it bought Star Wars from Lucas Films.

That prompted many in the industry to ponder whether the studio would revive Indiana Jones, played by veteran actor Ford. Word is, he wants back in too.
The ageing star recently celebrated his 72nd birthday but that hasn’t diminished his interest in the action role he made famous.
Rumour has it Ford wants to reprise the character if Disney brings it back.

He’s currently working on the new Star Wars film and recently injured his leg on set at Pinewood Studios outside of London.
Ford is one of the several original stars returning to the JJ Abrams-directed sequel.
The four past films in the series have collectively grossed $1.9 billion at the box office.
The popular character and story has also spawned a television series, video games, comic books and a range of collectable merchandise.
