HOLLYWOOD action man Vin Diesel has thrilled Fast & Furious fans by revealing the franchise will race to 10 films, and wrap with a trilogy.

Despite the fact there is no director behind the wheel for an eighth movie or an official script, Diesel has announced he has signed on for three more films.

“The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world ... Since I became the producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way ... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you,” Diesel wrote on his Facebook page.

“(Film studio) Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision ... they have been like family ... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.” He said he plans to announce the director of the eighth instalment of the franchise on Facebook, but as of yet, no one has been offered the job.

“’My producing partner Neal (Moritz) would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet ... let alone seen a script ... I will announce the directors on my next post ...(sic)” Four men have directed the seven films to date.

Rob Cohen took charge of The Fast & The Furious in 2001, John Singleton drove the sequel, Justin Lin helmed films three to six, and Australian James Wan was behind the wheel for this year’s seventh instalment.
