Fans have finally been given a sneak peek at the sexy rom-com shot in Australia, with Hollywood stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

Hollywood stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell went viral during their stint in Australia earlier this year, after paparazzi photos of them filming a sexy rom-com were published in media outlets around the world.

And now moviegoers have finally been given a sneak peek at the finished product.

Sony Pictures Entertainment released a teaser trailer on Friday for the upcoming film Anyone But You, which was shot at various public locations across Sydney in March and April.

Starring the Euphoria actress and Top Gun: Maverick actor, the movie tells the story of Bea (Sweeney) and Ben (Powell) – whose initial attraction for one another descends into resentment after “something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold.”

The warring pair then find themselves both attending the same destination wedding in Australia, where they hatch a plan to pretend to be a couple.

But the uncredited star of the one-minute teaser is the city of Sydney, which features so heavily you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s a Destination NSW ad:

Anyone But You, directed by Easy A and Friends With Benefits filmmaker Will Gluck,is set to hit cinemas on Boxing Day.

It also stars My Best Friend’s Wedding actor Dermot Mulroney, Australian actress Rachel Griffiths and Barbie star Alexandra Shipp.

Production has attracted significant media attention, with rumours swirling Sweeney, 26, and Powell, 34, formed a romantic connection off-screen.

Fan theories were further fuelled when Powell’s then-girlfriend, model Gigi Paris, unfollowed both the actor and Sweeney on Instagram in April after visiting the set in Australia, before posting cryptically, “Know your worth & onto the next.”

Sweeney, who is engaged to long-term boyfriend Jonathan Davino, later addressed the reports in an interview with Variety.

“Sometimes I feel beat up by it,” Sweeney told the publication in August. “It’s hard to sit back and watch, and not be able to stand up for yourself.”

But, she conceded, “Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”

Sweeney added the duo remained in close contact.

“We talk all the time, like, ‘That’s really funny,’” she added of how they reacted to all the various headlines surrounding their tight-knit bond.
