THE trailer for The Big Short has finally dropped - with movie enthusiasts saying the film has “one of the greatest casts ever assembled”.

The trailer for The Big Short has finally dropped - with movie enthusiasts saying the film has “one of the greatest casts ever assembled”.

The film is based on the 2010 book of the same name by Michael Lewis, the true story about the Financial crisis of 2007–2010 by the build-up of the housing and credit bubble and is directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers).

Here’s the short synopsis: “When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything.”

A release date in Australia is yet to be announced, but is expected to premiere in the US in December in order to qualify for the awards season.
