The one big star boycotting the Fifty Shades film

“NO I will not be seeing it,” this Hollywood star has announced of the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey film. But she has a very good reason for skipping the racy flick.

IT’S one of the most hotly-anticipated films of 2015, but there’s at least one celeb who definitely won’t be seeing the big-screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Melanie Griffith has announced she’s going to give the film a miss, but we can forgive her the snub: her daughter, model and actor Dakota Johnson, plays the main character.

In what’s tipped to be her big Hollywood break, Johnson — the 25-year-old daughter of Griffith and ex-husband, actor Don Johnson — plays Anastasia Steele, a naive young literature student introduced to the world of kinky sex by powerful businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).

“No I will not be seeing it,” Griffith said of the movie in a chat with TMZ.

“Well, because my daughter doesn’t want me to. And I don’t think it would be appropriate,” she added.

Griffith herself is no stranger to appearing in racy films: one of her first films, 1975’s Night Moves, caused controversy when she appeared nude at just 17 years of age. In 1984, she played a porn star in the erotic thriller Body Double.

Despite Jamie Dornan’s assurance last month that the film adaptation of Fifty Shades wouldn’t be quite so graphic as E.L. James’ best-selling book, it seems Griffith will respect her daughter’s wishes and give it a wide berth.
