The new Charlie’s Angels movie starring Kristen Stewart will be released later this year
The new Charlie’s Angels movie boasts a theme song by Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey and Miley Cyrus, as revealed in the trailer
The trailer has dropped for the new Charlie’s Angels movie starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinksa and featuring a new theme song sung by Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey. The highly anticipated film will be released in the US on November 15, 2019.
It is a reboot of the hit 2000 film starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, which was a spin-off of the popular 1970s TV series starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.
In the film, Charlie, played by Patrick Stewart, is the boss of a detective agency staffed by glamorous, powerful women (the Angels).
The film will be directed by actor Elizabeth Banks, who also stars in the film as Bosley, the Angels’ sidekick. Banks also wrote the screenplay for the new film.
The trailer is an action-packed three minutes of high speed car chases, fight scenes and covetable clothes, with the crime-busting stars appearing in an array of wigs and stylish outfits.
Janelle Monae can be heard in the opening moments of the credits, singing Make Me Feel. The as yet-unnamed theme song is then heard throughout the trailer, including Ariana Grande singing the words “Boy, don’t call me ‘angel’, you don’t know me.”
The theme song to the 2000 movie was Independent Woman by Destiny’s Child which featured similarly bold female empowerment lyrics.
This will be the second film directed by Banks.
She made her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015, which set opening weekend box office records for a first-time director.
