IT’S called Killers of the Flower Moon, the latest potential film adaptation that has caught the attention of three of our favourite men, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

A bidding war has reportedly broken out for the rights to adapt David Grann’s nonfiction book, with the Hollywood heavyweights and their respective production companies all fighting for it, according to The Tracking Board.

Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy and X-Men’s Brett Ratner are also in the mix, among many others.

Killers of the Flower Moon, from New Yorker staff writer Grann, “chronicles the real-life 1920s mystery surrounding the suspicious deaths of several Osage Indians, who were at the time among the richest people on the planet,” TTB reports.

“The story follows the twists and turns of the investigation that eventually became the first major case solved by J. Edgar Hoover’s brand new FBI.”

The book isn’t set for publication until mid-2017, but has already got studios preparing bids, with several of the big names rumoured to be partnering up to snag the project.

DiCaprio famously played Hoover in Clint Eastwood’s 2011 film J. Edgar, so it’s easy to see why the Oscar winner has got it in his sights.
