Sonic the Hedgehog to be redesigned after fan backlash over ‘creepy teeth’

The director of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie has caved and will change the look of the lead character after fans complained.

Sonic the Hedgehog movie director Jeff Fowler is burrowing in shame after outraged fans forced him to redraw his star character whose giant teeth creeped out viewers and sparked a backlash against the flick.

So the film, starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden and set to be released in November, will be reworked with a reconfigured Sonic.

“The message is loud and clear,” Fowler tweeted. “You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen.”

Fowler wrote: ‘Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.’

Fans who saw the trailer last week were upset with the design of the blue hedgehog who sports human chompers that look like dentures and a lanky muscular body.

Comedian Ben Schwartz, best known as the hysterical Jean-Ralphio Saperstein in Parks and Recreation, voices the namesake character based on the hit video game.

“#GottaFixItFast,” Fowler posted.
