Serena is a Depression-era period piece about a power-grabbing couple whose business empire begins to crumble.

The trailer has everything you could want in a JLaw and BCoop drama - sex, murder, fancy wigs and lingering stares.

The film will be released in Australia on November 27 and will be a welcome relief for Lawrence who has had her hands full dealing with off-screen attention thanks to the nude photo leak scandal.

But whether this new flick will reach the dizzying heights of their previous work such as Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle remains to be seen.
