JOHN Goodman has stunned onlookers when he hit the red carpet in London revealing his incredible weight loss.
The Roseanne star, who once tipped the scales at nearly 181kg, arrived for the premiere of his new film Trumbo looking much slimmer than fans have seen him in years.
Wearing a pinstripe navy suit with a polka-dot tie, Goodman’s frame was noticeably leaner than last year, when the actor was doing press for his 2014 film, The Gambler.
The 63-year-old has been open about his weight struggles in the past, telling talk show host David Letterman during a 2011 interview that he was “pushing 400” lbs (181kg) at his heaviest.
“I’d get off of Roseanne every spring. I’d lose 60 pounds every spring [but] I’d gain it back and then some, every year,” he told Letterman. “It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”
Goodman told People in 2010: “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a*se and figure out what you’re going to eat next.”
The Golden Globe winner posed alongside his Trumbo co-stars Helen Mirren and Bryan Cranston at the screening.
Goodman plays Hollywood producer Frank King in his new film, which tells the story of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (played by Bryan Cranston) who becomes black-listed and eventually imprisoned for his Communist beliefs.
Trumbo also stars Elle Fanning and Louis C.K.
