Romcom co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell reveal the ‘worst thing’ they experienced in Australia
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell spent time here filming their latest movie, and so far have had nothing but good things to say - until now.
American actors Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have revealed what they hated most about their time in Australia while filming their latest movie.
The pair star alongside each other in the upcoming Will Gluck (director of Easy A and Friends With Benefits) rom-com Anyone But You.
Set in Sydney, it was filmed there earlier this year, with both stars reflecting on their time in Australia during an interview with The Project’s Georgie Tunny on Thursday night.
Asked what the worst thing about Australia was, both stars agreed they should have filmed one particular underwater scene “when the water was warm.”
“Actually, all of the scenes. They were freezing,” Ms Sweeney said.
“We shot all the water scenes to begin the movie, when it was freezing,” Mr Powell said, despite the fact filming took place in the warmer February and March months.
“And then we shot all the sand scenes when it was the hottest,” he said, with his co-star agreeing, noting no none in the production was able to stand on the sand due to the heat.
Viewers were also treated to a behind-the-scenes clip of Sydney Sweeney’s run-in with some quintessential Australian wildlife.
“We’re both (still fans of Australia) even though she got bitten by the spider,” Mr Powell said.

A short clip was shown of a scene in which a “trained” Huntsman spider was placed on Ms Sweeney’s arm, before she starts screaming “HE’S BITING ME HE’S BITING ME HE’S REALLY BITING ME!”
“I thought I was dying,” Ms Sweeney said jokingly.
Anyone But You releases in cinemas across Australia on December 26.
