Rocky Horror Picture Show remake casts Laverne Cox as Frank-N-Furter

ORANGE is the New Black star Laverne Cox has been cast to play that sweet transvestite — Dr Frank-N-Further — is a new remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Deadline reports that the 31-year-old will take on the role on what will be a “reimagining” of the cult classic, which originally starred Tim Curry as Frank-N-Further in both the Broadway musical and the movie.
Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick play Brad and Janet who stumble upon Frank-N-Furter’s castle after their car breaks down.
Cox became the first ever transgender actor to be nominated for an Emmy her work on Orange is the New Black, where she plays transgender inmate Sophia Burset.
No word yet on the rest of the cast but the movie is expected to be released this time next year.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show just marked 40 years in theatres — longer than any other film in history.
