THE Office is heading to the big screen, with Ricky Gervais planning a celluloid spin-off that will find out what happened to David Brent after he left Wernham-Hogg.

THE Office is heading to the big screen, with Ricky Gervais planning a celluloid spin-off that will find out what happened to David Brent after he left Wernham-Hogg.

Brent made no secret of his musical ambitions in the show, and the film will be entitled Life on the Road and follow his efforts to forge a career in the industry.

Shot documentary-style like the original series, Life on the Road finds Brent working as sales rep for a cleaning products company and endeavouring to finance his own UK tour.

Lets hope there’s a few dancing scenes in the new movie.

As Gervais explains in a statement, “(Brent) thinks it’ll be like Scorsese filming The Rolling Stones, but it turns out to be a ‘Where are they now?’ documentary. He has to take a few weeks off work and cash in a couple of pensions, because the session musicians in the band are costing him more than he’s getting in ticket sales. Tragic.”

Some of The Office actors will appear in the new film.

Life on the Road is also likely to feature Office favourites Gareth (Mackenzie Crook) Tim (Martin Freeman) and Dawn (Lucy Davis) and will shoot in the UK in 2015.
