IN the upcoming all-female reboot of the beloved 1984 flick Ghostbusters, most of the main actors from the original have put their hands up to be involved.

All except Rick Moranis, who played Louis Tully.

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson have all signed on to make small cameos in the remake, and when it came out Moranis wouldn’t be making an appearance, fans were outraged.

In a rare interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 62-year-old says the studio did approach him with a walk-on role, but he turned it down.

“I wish them well,” he told the publication.

“I hope it’s terrific. But it just makes no sense to me. Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?”

While the comedy legend did take time off acting for 18 years after his wife died of cancer in 1997, he clarifies he’s not retired from the industry — despite what his Wikipedia page says.

“I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting,” he says of potential roles.

“I still get the occasional query about a film or television role, and as soon as one comes along that piques my interest, I’ll probably do it.”
