THE French film Blue is the Warmest Colour won the highest laurel at this year's Cannes Film Festival and could be on its way to Oscar glory too.

But you'll probably come to know it as the movie with the graphic lesbian sex scene in the middle.

The coming-of-age drama is quickly becoming the most talked about art house flick of the year, and most of that talk centres around the passionate tryst between its two female leads.

But what do real lesbians think of the super-hyped scene?

To find out, LGBT magazine Posture teamed up with filmmaker Yeni Sleidi to get some first-hand reactions from real-life gay women.

Some of the choicest disses:

"I think it was pretty boring. And I think it was pretty obviously two straight women attempting to have sex on camera for the first time ever."

And "I thought it was hot at the beginning, and then it got ridiculous when they kept switching sex positions every ten seconds, and it started to feel like an infomercial for a kitchen product, where they try and showcase all the things it can do."

Hear their responses for yourself.

Warning - the video doesn't feature the actual sex scene, but there is some colourful language from its viewers.
