No Time To Die releases second trailer, on track for November release

If you needed a reminder why you love Bond movies, the newly revealed trailer for No Time To Die will do it.

Universal has revealed a heart-thumping new trailer for the latest Bond movie, No Time To Die.

It’s the clearest sign yet that the Daniel Craig super-spy will actually return to our screens this year in November.

The packed two minutes and 34 seconds clip features several large-scale action sequences of Craig hurling himself around while also revealing a little more about the film’s mysterious villain, Safin (Rami Malek).

Safin, it turns out, wants “revenge” against Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), Bond’s off-into-the-sunset love interest from Spectre. He may also want to “kill millions”.

Safin intones to Bond in the trailer, “We both eradicate people to make the world a better place, I just want to be a little tidier”. What a creep.

Whether that’s throwing himself off the side of an aqueduct or dodging gunfire while trapped under ice, Craig pulls off some Mission Impossible-level stunts, while co-stars Lashana Lynch and Ana De Armas prove themselves very capable of trading bullets and knocking bad guys out with some serious high kicks.

Lynch also appears to be in a cockpit again after portraying fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in Captain America.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, fans expecting Bond tropes such as sweeping vistas in exotic locales, perfectly pressed tuxedos and gu-firing Aston Martins won’t be disappointed.

The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Christoph Waltz, Jeffrey Wright and Ben Whishaw, who are all reprising their roles from previous films in the Craig era.

No Time To Die is slated to be Craig’s last time in the Bond chair.

The film was originally to be released in April this year and was the first tentpole film to move its release date in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Many of its compatriots which had delayed their releases to later this year have since moved them to 2021 – this includes the likes of A Quiet Place 2 and Top Gun: Maverick.

No doubt No Time To Die’s producers will have been buoyed by Tenet’s recent opening weekend takings of $US53 million, the first blockbuster to have been released during pandemic times.

No Time To Die releases in Australia on November 12.
