The movie is based on the book A Long Way Home, which tells the true story of a young Indian boy, Saroo Brierley, who is adopted by Australians from the streets of Calcutta when he is five, and grows up in Hobart.
After 25 years, Brierley then attempts to track his family down.

It will be directed by Garth Davis and produced by powerful Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Kidman has had a busy couple of years working, with six films set to be released in the next year, according to movie website IMBD.
One is the Australian film Strangerland, which Kidman filmed last year in Broken Hill.
Strangerland also stars Hugo Weaving and Joseph Fiennes.
