The supporting cast is equally as marvellous as the leading trio, comprising of Robert De Niro, Taylor Swift, Rami Malek, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Michael Shannon, Matthias Schoenaerts, Alessandro Nivola, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, Mike Myers and Zoe Saldana.

Robbie, who is currently the talk of tinsel town thanks to fabulous on-set paparazzi photos of her transformation into Barbie for the upcoming live action movie, looks vastly different from the blonde doll in Amsterdam, in which she portraysValerie, a 1930s nurse.

Amsterdam is a murder mystery comedy set in the 1930s and is centred on a trio of friends (Robbie, Bale and Washington) who are accused of a killing. In order to exonerate themselves, they must find the real culprit.

It was shot in Los Angeles early last year.

It’s been reported Jennifer Lawrence was initially considered for the role, which ultimately went to Robbie.

It marks Russell’s first project since 2015’s Oscar-nominated movie Joy.

Amsterdam will be released in Australia on November 3.
