Lifetime reveals first photos from Britney Spears biopic
FANS have been given a sneak peek of the hotly-anticipated new movie based on Britney Spears’ life.
LIFETIME’S unauthorised Britney Spears biopic, Britney, won’t premiere until February — but the first pictures have been released in honour of the pop star’s birthday on Friday.
Australian actress Natasha Bassett stars in the two-hour movie, which, according to Lifetime, will document Spears’ “rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumph and resurrection” — including her much-publicised romance with Justin Timberlake (played here by Nathan Keyes).
(Spears “will not be contributing in any way shape or form to the Lifetime biopic, nor does it have her blessing,” according to her publicist.)
The movie, directed by Leslie Libman (Manson’s Lost Girls), will also document Spears’ 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander and her longer marriage (three years) to Kevin Federline, father of her two sons. Low points will include Spears’ public meltdown in 2008, when she was put under psychiatric observation and under her father’s conservatorship.
She’s since gotten her career and life back on track as an A-list recording artist and performer with a residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
