Jurassic World: Photos from the movie set
THE director of Jurassic World has shared some snaps from the set and has revealed secrets about the movie’s storyline.
FORGET about the T-Rex, the main trouble maker in the new Jurassic Park movie will be a brand new species of dinosaur that we’ve never seen before.
Jurassic World, which wrapped filming last month, is set 22 years after the original Jurassic Park movie and will be released in June next year.
Director Colin Trevorrow has been sharing a few snaps from the set over the past few months and he’s also provided fans with a few teasers about what we can expect from the movie.
“Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar,” Trevorrow said to SlashFilm.
“It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, night-life and a golf course.
“And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible.
“There will be one new dinosaur created by the park’s geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfil a corporate mandate — they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that’s what they get.”
The film stars Law & Order: Criminal Intent’s Vincent D’Onofrio, Arrested Development’s Judy Greer and Guardians of the Galaxy hunk Chris Pratt.
“Pratt’s character is doing behavioural research on the raptors,” said Trevorrow.
“They aren’t trained, they can’t do tricks. He’s just trying to figure out the limits of the relationship between these highly intelligent creatures and human beings.”
From the sound of it, there’s a fair chance this movie will be aroaring success.
