Is Seth Rogen’s ‘Sausage Party’ the filthiest animated film ever?
IT starts out like a Pixar film — but you’ll be shocked by the end of the trailer for Seth Rogen’s new animated comedy Sausage Party.
IT’S been billed as the first R-rated computer-generated animated movie, and judging by the first full-length trailer for Sausage Party, they’ve certainly earned the rating.
The film, penned by comedy duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, features a voice cast of comedy A-listers: Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera and Paul Rudd among them.
As the trailer starts, it seems like just another animated family film: Rogen and friends voice a variety of overly cheerful food items in a supermarket, all waiting for the ultimate honour — to be chosen by a customer.
The one problem: they haven’t twigged that a customer choosing them from the shelf means their untimely and violent death by consumption.
From there, the trailer takes a sharp turn (language warning in the video above, folks), with F-bombs aplenty and oddly graphic violence (never before have we seen a carrot being eaten as such a brutal act).
Sausage Party, which made its debut at the South By Southwest Festival this week, is in cinemas in August.
