The “Harry Potter” spin-off trilogy, “Fantastic Beasts,” has a release date for its first instalment, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
The film from Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling will be out Nov. 18, 2016, Variety reported.
The first of the three movies will be J.K. Rowling’s screenwriting debut and the author announced on her Facebook page that it will be set in a “the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years.”
That stated, “Fantastic Beasts” will not be a prequel nor a sequel to the “Harry Potter” series; instead, the new series will focus on Newt Scamander and will start in New York 70 years before Harry’s story.
Rowling originally published the Fantastic Beasts Magizoology compendium in 2001 to raise money for Comic Relief. The film has not yet been cast.
