First trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story released
STAR Wars fans have waited years for a glimpse of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off prequel. The wait is over.
AFTER years of waiting for a glimpse of the upcoming Solo spin-off movie, Star Wars fans have finally been gifted 46 glorious seconds.
Solo released its first teaser trailer today during the Super Bowl, ending with the promise of a full first trailer tomorrow.
The prequel film will serve as an origin story of sorts for Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich. The trailer sees young Han sitting down in front of a recruiter for the Empire, ostensibly to lend his kickarse piloting skills to the forces of evil.
Is this how Han gets his start, as a fly boy for the Empire? Or maybe it’s part of some Trojan Horse plot?
With only three and a half months to go until its release, the Star Wars overlords had been notoriously tight-lipped with any details so this teaser is like Labour Day or another second-tier holiday. Tomorrow, when the full trailer drops, is Christmas.
The trailer also momentarily bequeaths us glimpses of Woody Harrelson as Beckett, Emilia Clarke as Kira and Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian. And then there’s the moment between Han and Chewie. Just feel your heart soar. For reals.
The production for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been beset by problems, with its original directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord sacked midway by Disney and replaced by Hollywood veteran Ron Howard.
Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released in Australia on May 24.
