First pics of Hugh Jackman as the villainous Blackbeard in Pan
WE knew Hugh Jackman underwent a transformation for his next film role, but the Aussie actor looks positively evil in the first images released for Pan.
THE first pics of Hugh Jackman in Pan have been revealed and he looks nothing like the Jackman we all know and love.
The Aussie actor plays villainous pirate Blackbeard in Joe Wright’s upcoming film adaptation, not Peter Pan’s usual nemesis Captain Hook.
The 46-year-old hunk looks almost unrecognisable in the images released by Entertainment Weekly, sporting a sinister-looking moustache and a perfectly coiffed wig.
Wright (who also directed Anna Karenina and Atonement) has twisted the classic J.M. Barrie tale, re-imagining the boy who never grew up as a young orphan in the World War II era.
The Warner Bros. fantasy sees Blackbeard captaining a flying ship which abducts wartime orphans, including Peter, who is played by Australian actor Levi Miller.
Captain Hook, played by Garrett Hedlund, is described as “a dashing Indiana Jones-like figure.”
Wright promises: “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”
We already knew Jackmen underwent a transformation for his role in the film; earlier this year he shocked fans when he stepped out at the Wimbledon tennis championships in London with a shaved his head and some pretty impressive facial hair.
Jackman has also shared the just released Warner Bros. Pictures poster with his 4.8 million Twitter followers.
