Fans concerned that Fassbender was an unusual choice to play Jobs, particularly given they look nothing alike, needn’t worry. The X-Men actor is totally transformed in the role of the famous entrepreneur, who passed away in October 2011, aged 56 from cancer.
“Musicians play their instruments. I play the orchestra,” Fassbender’s Jobs tells Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the incredibly tense trailer.
The film also stars Kate Winslet as ex-Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, while Jeff Daniels portrays former Apple CEO John Sculley.
The much-hyped biopic, based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of the same name, is divided into three parts, each before one of Apple’s notorious product launches. It ends in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac.
Steve Jobs hits cinemas October 9, 2015.
