THE first picture of Ben Affleck as Batman is out, thanks to the director of the still-untitled Batman-Superman movie currently in production and slated for release in May 2016.

Filmmaker Zack Snyder tweeted this gloriously atmospheric, Sin City-style throwback picture of the Caped Crusader and his new Batmobile, taken with Snyder’s own Leica and seemingly ushering in a vintage, battered-looking superhero who resonates with the character’s original Art Deco-era stylings, the New York Post reports.

Now all Snyder has to do is teach Affleck to emote, and we’ll forget Ben was ever the star of Daredevil, Armageddon, Pearl Harbour, Gigli and a dozen other bad movies. Then again, Batman wouldn’t be Batman if he didn’t have a chip on his shoulder.
