First look at Adam Sandler’s ‘racist’ movie
AFTER months of controversy, the trailer for Adam Sandler’s Netflix movie, The Ridiculous Six, has finally been released.
NETFLIX’S first original blockbuster comedy isn’t far away
Adam Sandler’s first of four films with the streaming service, The Ridiculous Six, is set to debut on December 11. The Western comedy’s very first trailer dropped online today.
Sandler’s film has been beset by controversy in recent months.
Several Native American extras walked off the set last year and cited that they were offended by the way their culture was treated by the film. Others claimed that they were bronzed to look even more “Native American.” The cultural adviser also quit during production. Sandler has stated that these events were taken out of context.
This trailer gives us our first look at said “context.” The film looks to be a satire of the Western genre where Sandler plays an outlaw raised by a Native American tribe. The rest of the six band together and start a gang — and at some point realise they are all the sons of the same man.
The star-studded cast includes the likes of Taylor Lautner, Steve Zahn, Will Forte, Terry Crews, and, of course, Rob Schneider.
