HARRY Potter fans have had their first glimpse of Eddie Redmayne in the much-anticipated series spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

HARRY Potter fans have had their first glimpse of Eddie Redmayne in the much-anticipated series spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The teaser trailer, released today and debuted exclusively in Australia by news.com.au, follows an announcement trailer released in December.

The Oscar-winning British actor stars as “world-famous magizoologist” Newt Scamander who has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.

The film — to be released in Australian cinemas on November 17 2016 — follows the adventures of Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards in 1926.

Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident … were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

The film, set 70 years before the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, also stars Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, and Samantha Morton.
