Donald Trump gets AIDS in Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie, ‘Grimsby’

AUDIENCES who have seen Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie have responded with “loud cheering” when a fake Donald Trump gets AIDS at the end of the film.

DONALD Trump contracts AIDS in Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie and audiences are loving it.

In Grimsby, the Republican presidential nominee is infected with the disease at the end of the film with a mock news reporter announcing, “Donald Trump has Aids”.

The role of the divisive politician/reality TV star is played by a lookalike actor.

At the London premiere of Grimsby, the scene in question “caused loud cheering”, wrote The Telegraph.

Audiences reacted in similar delight at other screenings too, with The Metro reporting there was a “massive cheer” and a Twitter user saying, “the whole cinema clapped when Donald Trump got given AIDS”.

Despite the positive reaction from UK viewers, Sony Pictures are allegedly extremely nervous about how US audiences will react to the scene when it’s released in the states next week.

According to The Huffington Post, three industry sources have confirmed that the studio asked Sacha Baron Cohen to remove the scene, but he refused as he has final authority over the movie.

“If you were told that they’re shying away from the movie because of the political implications, I can tell you that’s 100 per cent true,” said a source to The Huffington Post.

However, there’s also speculation that it’s all just a publicity stunt and Sony Pictures are more than happy with the scene.

“The studio always knew what the movie was,” said another source.

“It’s Sacha Baron Cohen’s outrageous brand. Legal vets it. There’s no worries there, and there’s no big love affair with Trump out here in Hollywood.”

Grimsby will be released in Australia on March 10.
