Daniel Craig behaves like a real jerk in interview
JAMES Bond may be charming on the big screen, but the man who brings him to life is anything but when he chats to reporters about his new film.
DANIEL Craig seems to absolutely despise talking about the new Bond film.
The 47-year-old star has been less than enthusiastic in interviews to promote Spectre, which is released in Australia on November 12.
Speaking to Red Bulletin, Craig was asked, “What could we learn from James Bond that would help us in our day-to-day lives?”
After a short think, the actor responded with, “Nothing.”
The reporter pushed further, asking, “But James Bond is one of the most legendary movie heroes of all time. Surely he must have a couple of inspirational personality traits?”
Apparently not.
“Let’s not talk these films up as some kind of life-changing experience,” said Craig.
“Bond is what Bond does.”
When asked about the character’s amazing ability to woo women, the actor once again couldn’t hide his disdain for the role which has made him millions of dollars since 2005.
“But let’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist,” said Craig.
The British star, who is married to actress Rachel Weisz, was similarly snarky in his interview with ITV.
In a cringe-worthy clip, the reporter asks the actor if he’ll demonstrate “the Daniel Craig pout” which he’s used on screen in each of his four Bond films.
“No,” said Craig.
“Go on, go on,” urged the reporter, who perhaps thought the star was just being bashful.
But he wasn’t.
With a straight face, Craig simply said, “I think you need to move on”.
Ouch.
But this behaviour isn’t exactly new.
In a 2012 interview with news.com.au to promote Skyfall, Daniel Craig was asked to demonstrate some of his signature Bond moves.
“I’d rather suck pus out of an abscess,” he said.
Listen mate, we get that it must be annoying to have to sit through hundreds of interviews, talking about the one movie and getting asked the same questions over and over again. But come on, you could at least pretend you’re somewhat interested in promoting the movie. You are an actor after all.
