Chris Hemsworth’s surprise appearance in Crocodile Dundee reboot

DAYS after news of a Crocodile Dundee reboot shocked the world, another surprise drops. Chris Hemsworth will appear in the latest instalment.

CHRIS Hemsworth is lending some serious star power to the latest Crocodile Dundee instalment.

Just days after a trailer for the mysterious project surprised the world, a new clip has been teased featuring the Thor star.

While not many details have been released about Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home, the story appears to follow Mick Dundee’s American son Brian — played by US comedian Danny McBride — as he travels from his comfortable life in the states to the Australian outback.

The new clip shows Hemsworth in all his Aussie glory meeting the new-generation Dundee.

“Yo, where them kangaroos at?” Dundee asks.

“Brian Dundee?” Hemsworth’s character asks, confused. “Really?”

The Aussie action star makes a surprise appearance in the project.

The reboot came out of nowhere and was confirmed on Saturday. The franchise’s original star Paul Hogan confirmed the project to People, saying it would hit screens by midyear.

Talking about the iconic franchise, Hogan told People the films were a “defining moment” in his life and one of his “proudest accomplishments”.

Danny McBride stars as the son of Mick Dundee in the reboot.

“Throughout the past few years, I’ve been thinking about how to bring Dundee to a new generation,” he told the publication. “I’m excited to introduce the new Crocodile Dundee to the world and look forward to sharing more news about those involved very soon.”

Crocodile Dundee premiered in Sydney on April 30, 1986 — instantly putting the Australian outback on the map and making Hogan a household name around the world.

The brainchild of star Hogan and producer John Cornell, the $8.6 million film went on to become one of the most successful in Australian history, finishing second only to Top Gun at the US box office that year.
