Break out your swimmers because the Baywatch trailer is finally here

PREPARE to be rescued — Baywatch style — because the movie’s first and long-awaited trailer is finally here.

Co-stars Efron and The Rock are hilarious in Baywatch’s first trailer.

HOLD onto your (beach) hats because the long awaited Baywatch trailer has finally dropped.

The movie, an adaptation from the hit 1990s show, will centre on co-stars Zac Efron and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as they try to save the Bay from criminal activity and loss of funding.

The teaser is stocked full of everyone’s favourite things — muscles, red swimming costumes and slow motion runs down the beach. Don’t forget the explosions and diving under walls of fire to save stranded beachgoers.

The Rock’s character, an already established lifeguard for ‘The Bay’, struggles to come to terms with Efron’s character, a gold medal Olympian who has been brought in as “a good PR opportunity.”

If chiselled guys jumping off piers and exploding boats aren’t your thing never fear because the ladies of Baywatch are shown off with bright red swimmers and slow-mo scenes.

“Why does she always look like she’s running in slow-mo?” asks Alexandra Daddario in the teaser.

“You see it too!?” replies her friend.

Efron and The Rock’s chemistry and friendship is easy to spot both on and off the screen.

Johnson took to Instagram recently to praise his Neighbours co-star.

The teaser is also full of hilarious improv between the two muscled heroes complete with stealing pink scooters to chase bad guys and “turning the canals into the X-Games” which Efron’s character explains to a furious policeman they did because they were in “lifeguard pursuit.”

The original show started filming in the late 1980s and eventually reached cult level status with stars like Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff

Baywatch is slated for its beachy release in May, 2017. Watch the whole hilarious trailer below.
