Ben Affleck pens own Batman script

IN THE wake of endless negative reviews for Batman v Superman, Ben Affleck has decided to write a script for a stand-alone movie starring the caped crusader.

Batman verses Superman review

IF YOU want something done right, do it yourself.

That’s the attitude of actor Ben Affleck, who has penned his own stand-alone Batman script, according to the CEO of the talent agency that represents him.

Affleck, 43, played the caped crusader for the first time in the $326 million AUD Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which was criticised by film critics.

Some of the negative reviews have been:

“The film might be pretty to look at, but narratively speaking, it is a disaster.” — Globe and Mail.

“Underdeveloped, overlong and stupendously dispiriting.” — Wall Street Journal.

“Constantly threatening to collapse from self-seriousness, this epic has way too much of everything, including CGI and Oscar winners up the wazoo.” — New York Post.

Affleck looked visibly upset when reminded of the poor reviews in a recent press tour interview, spawning a “Sad Affleck” internet meme in the process.

The Oscar-winner will act in at least two Justice League films but may soon get the chance to write and direct a story about the Dark Knight from his own perspective.

“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape,” Patrick Whitesell from William Morris Endeavor (WME) told The Hollywood Reporter.

“There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool (Batman) idea, so that’s out there as an option.”

Affleck has previously admitted a stand-alone film was “in development” but he was focused on other projects.

His Batman will also make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Suicide Squad film.

Let’s hope Affleck’s script is better than Batman v Superman.
