AMERICAN comedian Amy Schumer has delighted Australian fans by announcing a one-off show in Melbourne.
Schumer will perform at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Wednesday next week when she visits Australia for the premiere of her film Trainwreck - she not only stars in the movie but also penned the screenplay.
In the film, she plays a woman whose emotionally sloppy, promiscuous romantic life gets a jolt when she falls for a genuine nice guy (Bill Hader).
The comedian is best known for her sketch comedy series Inside Amy Schumer, which debuted on Comedy Central in 2013 to the network’s highest season premiere ratings of the year.
The show, which just wrapped its third season in the US, earned Schumer a Critics Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
* Tickets for Schumer’s Hamer Hall show go on sale on Friday from 10am at Arts Centre Melbourne box office, www.artscentremelbourne.com.au or 1300 182 183.
