It follows the news that Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan had landed the roll of Grey after Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam pulled out.
Grimes most recently starred in True Blood as the toy boy of Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll).
Prior to that he got his big break in Brothers and Sisters, where he played Ryan Lafferty.
E News reports that the 29-year-old will join Dornan and Dakota Johnson in the role of Elliot Grey, Christian Grey's brother, in the movie adaptation of EL James's best-selling book, Fifty Shades of Grey.
