Toy Story 4 will be love story between Woody and Bo Peep, says Disney

TOY Story is coming back for a fourth instalment with Woody set to find love as fans are treated to the return of a favourite character.

TOY STORY, the groundbreaking animation film, is coming back for a fourth instalment with the plot revolving around a romance between Woody and Bo Peep.

The news was announced by Disney’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter in an interview with CNBC.

Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts) was Woody’s girlfriend in the first two Toy Story movies but had only a small cameo role in Toy Story 3, with many fans left disappointed by her disappearance from the franchise.

“It’s a love story with Woody and — and this is news — Bo Peep!” said Lasseter, who directed the first Toy Story in 1995 for Pixar and is helming Toy Story 4.

The first movie which featured the adventures of Woody, a toy cowboy voice by Tom Hanks, was the first feature-length computer-animated movie and led to Lasseter joining Disney when it bought Pixar in 2006.

“At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money,” he told CNBC.

The Toy Story franchise has made around $2.7 billion at the international box office.
