Star ‘heartbroken’ over Downey Jr.’s huge news

The disgraced actor that Robert Downey Jr. replaced in the forthcoming Marvel movies has finally broken his silence.

Robert Downey Jr. to become highest-paid actor of all time

Disgraced actor Jonathan Majors has revealed he’s been left “heartbroken” after being replaced by Robert Downey Jr in the next two Avengers movies.

Majors was originally set to play villain Kang, before he was dropped by Marvel after being found guilty of two misdemeanour counts of harassment and assault against.

Kang, who was set up as the new Thanos of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was to feature prominently in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, has now been scrapped and replaced by the Downey-starring Avengers: Doomsday.

“Yeah, heartbroken. Of course,” Majors answered when TMZ asked him if he was hurt by the new direction Marvel was taking. “I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”

“I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love … and [he’s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level,” Majors said about how Downey was afforded a comeback despite legal troubles.

“I didn’t really get that.”

Downey Jr was arrested in 1996 for possession of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded gun and given three years of probation, and his career suffered dramatically as a result until his comeback in 2008’s Iron Man.

Major’s went on to add that he would return in a heartbeat, saying: “Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang. If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”

After his arrest, Majors was dropped by his talent manager, Entertainment 360, and his publicity firm, the Lede Company.

Majors was arrested on March 25, 2023, for charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment after a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

After a few delays, Majors was found guilty of the two counts of assault and harassment and was acquitted of the charges of intentional assaults in the third degree and aggravated assault in the second degree. Majors plead not guilty to all accounts.

He avoided jail time but was sentenced to a year of counselling. Additionally, Majors’ attorneys said, “we are optimistic that Mr. Majors will work in the film industry again soon.”
