Photos show Nicole Kidman has become the ‘queen of transformations’
NICOLE Kidman has starred in over 20 films in the past eight years — and as these photos show, she’s had just as many complete transformations.
THIRTY-FIVE years after her breakthrough role in BMX Bandits, Nicole Kidman shows no signs of slowing down.
And as the New York Post noted this week, the instantly recognisable Aussie star, 51, has carved out a career in recent years as a surprisingly transformative actor.
Kidman has been remarkably prolific so far this decade. Including films currently in post-production, she’s starred in more than 20 movies since 2011 — and that’s not even counting her acclaimed TV turns in recent miniseries Big Little Lies and T op Of The Lake: China Girl.
She famously donned that fake nose to portray Virginia Woolf for her Oscar-winning turn in The Hours (2001), but some of Kidman’s more recent roles have seen her undergo much more drastic transformations.
Take a look:
Just Go With It (2011)
The Paperboy (2012)
Stoker (2013)

The still above, made public today ahead of the December release of Kidman’s film Destroyer, shows perhaps her most drastic transformation to date. She’ll play an LAPD cop plagued by past trauma who, as director Karyn Kusama told Vanity Fair today, “wears her ugliness on the outside”.
“We always knew that what we wanted her to look like was a real middle-aged woman with a past that she wears on her face,” Kusama told the magazine.
“With sun damage and sleep deprivation and stress and rage, just in her whole physical body.”
