Is there an end-credits scene in Avengers: Endgame?

It’s become such a staple of Marvel movies that we all know to remain seated until the very, very end. But maybe not this time.

We all know the game by now.

When the credits start rolling on a Marvel movie, you have to stick around for that mid- or end-credits scene, no matter how much you want to run to the bathroom.

You never know what it’s going to tease from the next Marvel movie. Will Spider-Man swing through to set up Far From Home?

Sometimes it’s a direct tie-in to the next movie, sometimes it’s just a little humorous aside.

It’s become such a thing now, that other franchises have borrowed the concept too.

Except this time, Avengers: Endgame does not have a mid- or end-credits scene.

There is a weird metallic scraping sound that goes over the final Marvel Studios logo, which some have posited is a reference to Iron Man.

So if you’re reading this right now in your cinema and the lights have come on, it really is time to go.

Or maybe stick around and see if you can catch some of the names that worked really hard on this three-hour superhero spectacle — all those special effects guys, Mr Downey Jr’s security man, Mr Hemsworth’s dialect coach.

But just because there are no extra titbits, it doesn’t mean we can’t revisit some of our old favourites — like the one where Captain America teaches us about patience. Gold:

Or this one from the first Avengers movie, where our heroes go for some well-deserved schawarma.

Or when Thor pops into Doctor Strange’s abode for some beer, which is later included in the Ragnarok footage.

There’s the one that started it all, Nick Fury turning up at Tony Stark’s house to propose a team-up in Iron Man.

When Nick Fury introduces us to Captain Marvel at the end of Infinity War.

And, of course, Thanos descending on Thor and Loki, and Jeff Goldblum being very Jeff Goldblum-y at the end of Ragnarok.
