Don’t Worry Darling crew issue public statement about feud claims
Dozens of Don’t Worry Darling crew members have signed an unprecedented public statement regarding the wild feud rumours plaguing the movie.
The drama surrounding Don’t Worry Darling is set to stick with us much longer than the movie itself, especially now that crew on the film have broken their silence on the rumours of feud between Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde.
Just a few days ago, reports of an alleged “screaming match” between director Olivia Wilde and star Florence Pugh were making headlines.
An unnamed inside source claiming to have spent “significant time” on set claimed to Vulture that a “blowout argument” took place between Wilde and Pugh in January 2021 — about three-quarters of the way into production.

Allegedly, tensions had been growing as Pugh grew frustrated with Wilde’s “frequent, unexplained absences” — rumoured to be caused by the director sneaking off with boyfriend Harry Styles, who also stars in the film.
But now, 40 crew from the set have slammed the anonymous claims as just “absurd gossip” in a response directly to Vulture’s report given as a statement to Deadline.
“As a crew, we’ve avoided addressing the absurd gossip surrounding the movie we’re so proud of, but feel the need to correct the anonymous ‘sources’ quoted in a recent article,” the statement read.
“Any allegations about unprofessional behaviour on the set of Don’t Worry Darling are completely false,” it continued.
“Olivia is an incredible leader and director who was present with and involved in every aspect of production. She ran this set with class and respect for everyone involved. There was never a screaming match between our director and anyone, let alone a member of our cast.
“We are happy to put our names on this, as real people who worked on the film, and who have witnessed and benefited from the collaborative and safe space Olivia creates as a director and leader. We’re also thrilled that the movie is in theatres this weekend. We can’t wait for you to see it on the big screen.”
The statement was signed by producers including co-writer Katie Silberman, several crew members and director of photography Matthew Libatique.
