Jurassic Park 4: A first look at what’s in store
THE long-awaited fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise is still a year away — but these leaked pics and video indicate what’s in store.
THE long-awaited fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise is still more than a year away from hitting screens — but newly-leaked pictures and video give us a clue what we should expect.
The film has been in ‘development hell’ since the release of the third movie back in 2001, with frequent delays and false starts.
Finally, it seems there’s good news ahead: the film has a title, Jurassic World, and a cast including Bryce Dallas Howard and Parks and Recreation funnyman-turned-action hero Chris Pratt.
The 3D film also has a release date — June 12, 2015 — and what seems to be an initial trailer.
This dodgily-recorded camera phone footage emerged late last year after a film industry conference, and shows a pair of enormous Pterosaurs terrorising unlucky beachgoers.
We’ve also now been granted an early glimpse of the setting for the upcoming blockbuster. Computer-generated pictures of the island designed by veteran concept artist Nathan Schroeder, a veteran film concept artist who has worked on such films as The Avengers and Thor, have made their way online in recent days:

Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed the new film will take place in the present day, some 22 years on from the original Jurassic Park, and judging by these pictures it seems like the pesky humans haven’t learned their lesson.

While the two follow-up films showed an island in disrepair, with dinosaurs running amok, these pictures suggest that Jurassic Park has been reclaimed as a luxurious tourist destination.
As the saying goes, life finds a way — we’re sure it won’t be too long until the T-Rex and co manage to break out of their enclosures and chomp down on a few of the cast.
