Gwyneth Paltrow explains infamous Marvel movies gaffe

Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her incredibly awkward run-in with former Avengers co-star Sebastian Stan.

Gwyneth Paltrow has one reason why she can’t remember all of the Marvel films she’s appeared in: sheer quantity.

The 47-year-old actress, who stars as Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has made headlines for mixing up some of her appearances in the franchise’s films.

In July, Paltrow was called out for forgetting her co-star Sebastian Stan after appearing in a group shot posted to the actor’s Instagram.

He captioned it: “Just barely managed to photobomb the great @pppiccioli and legend @realmrvalentino here … Thank you both for inviting me to my first couture show in France.

“Also glad I got to reintroduce myself to @gwynethpaltrow for the third time. We are in the same film …(shrug emoji).”

Stan has played Bucky Barnes in the Captain America and Avengers films, with he and Paltrow appearing in two Marvel movies together.

Addressing the infamous gaffe, Paltrow insisted that it didn’t bother her.

“I never read stuff,” she told Elle magazine about making the news.

She continued: “But it is confusing because there are so many Marvel movies, and to be honest, I haven’t seen very many of them.”

Paltrow, who shares two children — Apple, 15, and Moses, 13 — with ex and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, went on to say that it’s “really stupid.”

“ … I’m sorry, but I’m a 47-year-old mother,” she concluded.

Paltrow has starred in all three Iron Man films, as well as The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
