Australian actress Teresa Palmer to be female lead in Point Break film reboot
AN Australian actress has landed the lead female role in one of the most controversial movie reboots — but can she put Point Break fans at ease?
AUSTRALIAN actress Teresa Palmer has been cast opposite Edgar Ramirez and former Home and Awaystar Luke Bracey in the upcoming Point Break reboot.
Palmer, who proved her action credentials with a scene-stealing performance as a kick-arse alien in I Am Number Four, is to play Bracey’s love interest.
The movie will retain the original story of an FBI agent infiltrating a ring of criminals but will be set in the world of extreme sports.

Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty, The Bourne Ultimatum) will replace Gerard Butler as Bodhi, the role made famous by Patrick Swayze in the original 1991 film. The Gods of Egypt star pulled out last month due to scheduling conflicts.
The film has been scheduled for an August, 2015, release.
Palmer recently shot the crime thriller Kill Me Three Times, directed by Kriv Stenders (Red Dog) in Perth and Western Australia with Simon Pegg, Sullivan Stapleton, Alice Braga and Luke Hemsworth.
According to Variety, the 28-year-old actor is about to start work on the John Hillcoat crime drama Triple Nine with Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The Warm Bodies star and husband Mark Webber announced the birth of their son, Bodhi Rain Palmer, in February this year. It is not known whether he was named after the Swayze character.
