Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne debuts in Disney’s Maleficent
PROVING braver than her older siblings, five-year-old Vivienne could just be the next big thing as she plays Sleeping Beauty next to mum Angelina Jolie.
WHO’S afraid of the big, bad ... mummy?
Certainly not Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
The five-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can be seen staring down her movie star mother, horns and all, in a new image released from the film Maleficent.
The little Jolie-Pitt makes her acting debut in Disney’s twist on the Sleeping Beauty fairytale, playing the younger version of Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning plays the older princess), who is cursed by Jolie’s frightful witch.
Jolie this week revealed she’s to go under the surgeon’s knife yet again in a preventive step against breast cancer.
The 38-year-old star lost her mother to the disease in 2007.
Vivienne’s bravery and willingness to play in Maleficent made her the only choice for the role, Jolie has told Entertainment Weekly.
“She was four at the time. Other three and four-year-olds wouldn’t come near me. So ... it had to be a child that really liked me and wasn’t afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.”
Vivienne showed up even her big brother, Pax, 10, who ran away from Jolie when he first saw his mum in her wicked make-up.
“I thought he was kidding, so I was pretending to chase him until I actually found him crying,” Jolie told EW.
“I had to take pieces (of the costume) off in front of him to show him it was all fake.”
Pax got comfortable enough later on in the shoot to make a cameo in a christening scene alongside another of his sisters, nine-year-old Zahara.
Vivienne can also be seen running happily through a field in the latest trailer for Maleficent, which opens in Australian cinemas on May 29.
