Cosplayers, anime lovers, creative minds and nerds are enjoying the wild and wacky few days at Oz Comic Con in Melbourne this long weekend.

One of the biggest comic conventions in Australia, Oz Comic Con annually draws in large crowds.

Sci-fi and fantasy lovers are able to meet and hear those who work within the industry, from actors, voice actors, professional cosplayers, artists, writers and many more.

In Melbourne, Doctor Who star John Barrowman and Star Wars Rebels star Tiya Sircar are giving incredible insight into their shows to fans attending.

Fans of the long running sci-fi show will recognise the charming smile of Captain Jack Harkness, a character Mr Barrowman played in both the main Doctor Who series and the spin off show Torchwood.

Other guest appearances in Melbourne include the Danganronpa’s psychotic bear Monokuma’s voice actor Brian Beacock, Crunchyroll powerhouse Christina Kelly, Once Upon A Time’s Emilie de Ravin, Supernatural’s Jim Beaver, Night of The Living Dead’s Patricia Tallman and many more.

Beyond the guest speakers, fans put on their best cosplay of characters from multiple franchises for fun, or compete in the Championship of Cosplay.

The top cosplayers from each of the six states that the convention travels to will battle it out to be crowned Grand Champion.

Some of the best cosplay spotted at Melbourne’s convention come from a wide range of characters.

Many visitors should prepare for trouble and make it double, after spotting Jessie, James and Meowth from Pokemon!

While it’s not historically accurate and sadly, as the real Anastasia Romanov didn’t survive the overthrowing of the royal family, this cosplay of the Grand Duchess of Russia is still gorgeous.

Anyone who has been on TikTok, YouTube or has Amazon Prime will recognise the multiple Princesses of Hell Charlie Morningstar and Hell’s Best Dad Lucifer from the hit cartoon Hazbin Hotel.

Old school sci-fi fans won’t be disappointed as some people cosplayed from cult classics such as Predators, with a few spotted around the convention the hunt.

An incredibly detailed Star Wars’s Ahsoka Tano was there to keep them in check.
