Kim Kardashian, Kanye West reject $3.2m offer from Aussie mag for baby North West pics
AN AUSSIE magazine has reportedly offered Kim and Kanye a whopping $3.2 million to secure the first photo of baby girl North West.
US gossip websites are reporting that an Australian magazine has offered Kim and Kanye a whopping $3.2 million to secure the rights to the first photos of their newborn baby daughter.
The first-time parents reportedly turned down the shocking sum to debut baby North West, according to Us Weekly, but so far no Aussie mag has been willing to put their name to the enormous offer.
"I can't imagine this is true," WHO magazine Editor Nicky Briger told news.com.au. "What company would be so reckless as to sanction this kind of spend? Even with an incredible sale, you won't come close to covering costs. It makes no economic sense."
Editors of leading Aussie mags were contacted for comment but so far none have come forward to confirm they were behind the offer.
It comes as little surprise considering how tough the Australian mag industry is doing it at the moment - $3.2 million is surely a figure that most editors could only dream of.
Even the $350,000 deal Woman's Day inked with Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall for their wedding exclusive was a figure baulked at by most - a sum just one tenth of that being offered to Kim and Kanye.
Whether US websites have their wires crossed or one particular Aussie mag is quietly faring better than the rest, we're not sure. Either way, it's unknown when the famous pair is planning to share snaps of baby North West with the rest of the world.
Rumours swirled earlier this week that Kim and Kanye were offered $2 million for the first family photo shoot, which the couple was planning to donate to charity.
It has been widely reported that new dad Kanye, 36, has been doing everything in his power to keep his two-and-a-half-week old baby girl out of the spotlight, despite Kim's mum Kris Jenner's alleged plan to debut her granddaughter on her new talk show.
"Kanye's been adamant about not having the baby on [Keeping Up with the Kardashians]," an insider tells Us Weekly.
"He was serious when he said North isn't America's baby, so he may not do anything."
Kim, 32, has also been going to extremes to protect her already-famous bub's identity.
The reality TV star reportedly sent out fake baby photos to friends to see who would attempt to cash in on the snaps.
The protective pair have also apparently hired a security team trained in "stalkers and death threats" to protect their daughter, who has already been given the moniker Nori.

"Kim and Kanye have been ultra-paranoid ever since Nori was born and have gone to every length to ensure she's protected. Their security team are the best in the business; they're trained in handling vast amounts of confidential information, so they are perfect for the Hollywood elite," an insider told British magazine Heat.
Baby North West was born five weeks premature on June 15. Mum, dad and bub have all been staying at a secret location while media frenzy is in full swing.
