Home and Away’s Bonnie Sveen talks about her healthy weight in Logies speech
IF YOU didn’t know Bonnie Sveen before last night then you’ll be hearing a lot more of this smart, healthy, young woman thanks to her Logies speech last night.
AMONGST all the hype of last night’s Logies you could be forgiven for missing the important message delivered by Home and Away’s Bonnie Sveen.
In her acceptance speech for Most Popular New Talent the 24-year-old said: “I think it says something really progressive about Australia and about the commercial industry that viewers have so warmly embraced such a natural and healthy, young woman on their screens. Go Tassie!”
It was a bold statement and one which was quickly applauded by the audience and viewers at home who took to social media to congratulate the beauty.
Sveen also acknowledged the traditional owners of the Melbourne area where the Logies were being held which was equally well received.

Bonnie Sveen. Pure class for acknowledging Australia's first people and the land that the Logies are built upon. Admirable.

This morning Sveen clarified her comments to Channel 7’s Sunrise:‘I’m a healthy, young thing, I describe myself as natural and healthy and I think it’s important to address that body image affects all women, it doesn’t matter if you’re a performer or not. I think that we prioritise that over things which I think are more important and it holds us back. So I think it’s something that’s important to address.”
