Both the singing superstars showed off their guns yesterday, with Bieber posting a shirtless selfie on Instagram and Usher appearing in the latest edition of Men's Health magazine.
Usher, 34, has been sporting a six pack for years, but lately he's been hitting the gym even harder in preparation for his upcoming role playing boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the movie Hands of Stone.
"I train like an athlete every day, believe it or not," said Usher.
"Mentally, I'm the type of person who can ignore the pain. Put it somewhere else and allow my body to just go there. But I always suffer."
Bieber, 19, has also been pumping iron like crazy over the past 12 months, regularly posting gym photos on Twitter.
He hasn't actually said that his main motivation is to outmuscle his mentor, but we'd like to think it is.
