Daniel Craig’s fashion fail: Bond star arrives at Spectre launch wearing ‘sensible’ jumper
HE’S got a new car, new girls and a new villain. But at the launch of the 24th Bond film overnight, all eyes were on Daniel Craig’s fashion fail.
CAN a navy-blue jumper really send Twitter into meltdown?
If the man wearing it happens to be Bond hunk Daniel Craig, the answer is, well, yes.
The normally impeccably attired star caused a frenzy on social media by turning up to the launch of the new Bond film Spectre wearing a “sensible” jumper.
Craig’s jumper — paired with white shirt and grey trousers — was an ensemble far removed from his usual look of tuxes and sharp suits, not to mention those really, really tight shorts.
M&S Blue Harbour jumper. This look. Add a paper hat and Daniel Craig is basically your dad at Christmas pic.twitter.com/npI8N2WQsh

I know it's a bit chilly today but that's no excuse for Daniel Craig to wear such a grandad jumper :-/ #spectre

To make matters worse, as one Twitter user pointed out, it wasn’t even V-necked. Oh, the shame.
The Bond star’s get-up led some fashion watchers to ponder if he was channelling an accountant.
Others likened him to a “grandpa” or a daggy (albeit ridiculously hot) uncle.
Loyal fans, however, leapt to Craig’s defence, lauding the buff actor’s ability to fill out the tight jumper quite nicely.
Daniel Craig getting grief for wearing a jumper at today's #Bond24 announcement. I thought he looked good. Bond should wear a suit, though.

Daniel Craig looks so bloody hunky in that jumper. It's like golf chic.

Craig gave the jumper an airing at the announcement of the new Bond film Spectre in London.
Director Sam Mendes has brought in several new cast members and a new version of Bond’s iconic Aston Martin car.
Academy Award-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz is joining the cast, while Andrew Scott — Moriarty from BBC series Sherlock — will play a government official.
Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci are the new “Bond girls.”
Craig will play Bond for a fourth time, and Mendes returns as director after 2012’s Skyfall.
Returning cast members include Ralph Fiennes as spy chief M, Ben Whishaw as gadget-master Q and Naomi Harris as Miss Moneypenny.
Skyfall was the most successful Bond film yet, taking more than $1.1 billion at the global box office.
Waltz said his character was called Oberhauser, but many fans will hope he is really Blofeld, one of the most enduring Bond villains.
Principal photography on the new film begins on Monday.
Filming will take place at Pinewood Studios near London and on location in Morocco, Mexico and Austria.
The movie is due for release late next year.
